  1. Hold the Power and Volume DOWN key together for 12 seconds and Maintenance Boot Mode appears. Power down : Turn off your phone. Scroll to this, and Verizon tech said it’s like removing your battery.

  6. I have a complaint about the Recovery Menu….

A joke I saw 25 years will best describe my frustration of this design….

Ronald Reagan was just elected. A guide shows him the Whitehouse. The guide explains that one switch on the wall is to turn on the lights, and the switch below is to blow up the world.

The Samsung Recovery Menue has a similar disregard for a safety net. The font is tiny. In trying to select a simple reset or reboot, 4 times, in 4 months, Factory Reset took place, without me wanting this. One of the times, it was at this menu, but the screen was still dark, and I must have selected Factory Reset. Even deleting a simple email, a warning comes up to see if that’s what I want. But, here Factory Reset removes much much more, and there is no pop up warning. The font is tiny. The different options are on top of one another. There should be major space from Factory Reset and the other less drastic options. There should be typing in certain letters for captcha code for factory reset so a small child or a 4am sleepy non child without glasses..would need to press more than a combination of buttons to activate the unwanted Factory Reset. This lack of safeguard to do a simple reset versus Factory Reset would be a similar risk level to an older phone, where if you take out the battery in an upside down way to reset, the phone goes to Factory Reset. That never happened, but the Samsung Recovery Menu is almost at that hair splitting vulnerability example.

How do you power it down with a blank black screen! Please help me with this also.
Some how I managed it but this trick did not work for me as it appears for some other people above. Is there any other option. My phone restarts if I hold power and volume down button and does not give me the above options
